| Fight 4 A Cure |
Making West Michigan families healthier, stronger and safer.
Recently, we at Big Dog Taekwon-Do decided we needed to Do something
about cancer. We are tired of cancer winning. All of us who run our little martial
arts school have lost friends and loved ones to cancer and we decided we
needed to find a way to bring some light and make something good happen.
What we are doing is a Cancer Research Fundraiser for the Van Andel Institute
in Grand Rapids, MI with multi-pronged events... live music, a silent auction for
spectators and guests, pledge donations for students to participate in sparring
and kicking activities, and an on-line component so people around the world
can make donations to the event should they wish to do so. We are calling our
event "Fight 4 a Cure" and event information can be found on facebook at

We also have a website through the Van Andel Research Institute which
accepts online donations:

Why are we including this on our web page? Simple... to ask you to first of all
(and most importantly) show up on 9/9/11 to be part of this incredible event
and second of all to share these links with your friends
Someday our grandchildren will have to come and ask us what cancer was
much like our kids have no concept of polio. If we all work together and we all
give a little, maybe that dream can come true. Imagine the possibility of a
cancer-free world. I hope you'll help us.
Our silent auction will be incredible. We have celebrity signed and unique items
as well as local treasures and fabulous finds. We will have some of our
students raising money with kicking and sparring activities, and have invited
many local celebrities to put on some inflatable boxing gloves and get in the
ring for some FUN-draising.... and ...... (drum roll please) WE HAVE A BAND!!!
The band FLASHBACK will be playing at our event right here in the parking lot
at Big Dog TKD... so join us at Big Dog (6504 28th Street, Suite L) on 9/9 from
6:30 - 9:00 and bring the family!
